How large a boat can your marina handle?

With three premier locations, Tonka Bay Marina can dock, dry stack, store and transport boats up to 70 feet.

Does Tonka Bay Marina offer a travel lift service?

Yes, we have a new travel lift at our Shorewood Yacht Club location and can handle just about any size boat entering or leaving Lake Minnetonka.

Why dry stack my boat?

Dry stacking, or keeping your boat inside a building when not in use, protects it from the sun and the elements. Keeping your boat clean, dry and in better condition means it will last longer. The gel coat will stay shiny and bright, because it's less prone to sun fade. Dry stacking also prevents prevents algae and zebra mussels build-up, which can lead to a costly cleanup job at the end of the season. A shiny gel coat and a clean outdrive are real assets when it's time to sell your boat. Our facilities can handle most boats up to 26 feet.

Can you do warranty work or do I need to go to my dealer?

Yes. Our factory-trained-and-certified marine service technicians are fully qualified to do any warranty repair or service work you may need on your engine or drive unit. We also have an experienced fiberglass, paint and gel coat specialist on staff. With years of combined experience, they're the best service technicians on the lake. And your boat won't leave the marina, so you don't have to worry about transportation issues. We'll take care of everything, including insurance claims.

Do you offer any discounts for dockage and winter storage customers?

Yes. All dockage and winter storage customers receive a generous gas discount at our Tonka Bay Marina dock all season long. Dockage and dry stack customers who choose an annual (summer and winter) contract will receive considerable savings when set up together. Our winter storage customers receive 50 cent-per-gallon gas discount all season long. Summer only customers receive a 20-cent-per-gallon gas discount.

Is Tonka Bay Marina open all year?

Yes, we perform many maintenance jobs and repairs during the off-season, so someone is always here. In fact, winter is a great time to take care of the repairs you've been putting off because you don't want to miss a day of boating. Or maybe your boat is just looking a little tired. If so, let us do a simple buff and wax or a complete repaint to make it look like new.
